The Nonce was an American hip hop duo from Los Angeles, California. Consisting of rappers and producers Nouka Basetype and Yusef Afloat, the duo developed a reputation for their smooth, jazzy production and laidback, intelligent rhymes. The Nonce released their only full-length album, World Ultimate, to a mediocre reception, although it has been regarded more highly in recent years. In 1998, The Nonce released the EP The Sight of Things. The duo's last release was the single "Turnin' It Out" in 1999.
