BHM Black Women in Music: The Blossoms

The Blossoms fought long and hard to make their way in the music industry. Singing backing vocals for some of music's biggest hits even when credit eluded them.

From history-of-rock.com:

The Blossoms were probably the most successful unknown group of the '60s. They made a career of singing backup for scores of artists from Paul Anka to Elvis Presley with a versatility that allowed them to be a choral group one minute and a surf sound doo wop group for Jan and Dean's hits the next...

As fate would have it, their biggest song wasn't even credited to them, but that didn't stop The Blossoms from working hard to build their legacy over many years and varying members. Their hard work deserves recognition!
