Today we check in with Hempstead, Long Island native Grand Daddy I.U. the Smooth Assassin!

Ayyub Cave (August 23, 1968 - December 13, 2022), better known by his stage name Grand Daddy I.U., was an American rapper and record producer from Long Island, New York. He was primarily active during the golden age of hip hop and was a member of the Juice Crew. In 1990, he released his debut album Smooth Assassin, which spawned his one and only hit "Something New". Grand Daddy I.U. did ghostwrite for Biz Markie and Roxanne Shanté but became disenchanted with Markie over a dispute involving publishing credits for the tracks on his debut.
